Essie Spring 2011 Collection
Like the flourish and warmth of spring, Essie’s Spring 2011 collection is a set of six shades that grow on you slowly but surely, wrapping their tender and creamy feel over your fingernails, making you want to get out and walk the length of the beach as the sun sets or take off for a long and breezy drive along the woods.
Honestly, when I tried these shades first, I was not so inspired. I mean, spring should feel happy, bright and lively, isn’t it? But no, Essie allows the springy touch to assert over your fingernails ever so gently, the effect lingers on and on. Most of the shades are earthy, with a few surprises. They feel warm and cool at the same time.
Nice Is Niceis a soft mauve pink that looks amiable and chic. The French Affair crème, is nicely pastel pink, the kind that will remind you of blooming lavenders. Both are opaque and consistent in their finish. Coat Azureis a blue-stone gray color with a shimmer to bring out its effervescence. This color comes out real well in two coats.
My pick of the lot is Topless & Barefoot, a sandy cream with a touch of pink. It is demonstrative and unpredictable and carries itself well with any occasion or dress. Sand Tropez is also cream but with a touch of grey. Go for Kisses and Bises, if you want a duochrome look this spring. It’s sandy with a wink of pink and green and has a great sheer. You can pick all the colors that come in a 4 pc mini color cube or go for the 12 bottle designer display
